Ellie brought home a new friend on Tuesday. Flipper the dolphin/whale was to be our guest from Tuesday until Thursday and our job was to show him a great time then write about it in his travel journal. When asked what we should do, Ellie said we should take him to dinner. So we did.
The fellow diners at our local Red Robin went wild when they saw Flipper jump up into the big red birds arms.
Wednesdays Ellie has dance class so Flipper came along. We even found Madeline's tutu from her 3 month photo shoot that was the perfect size for our friend.
After dance, we worked on Valentines for Ellie's class and family. Flipper was right in there helping out and trying to dodge the glitter.
And after all that fun, it was time to curl up and go to sleep. Flipper fit right in with Ellie's other friends.
If we would have had our guest over the weekend, Flipper could have taken a trip to the big city or something a little more exciting. But with short notice and school nights, we think Flipper had a pretty great time. We know that everyone out and about had fun meeting Flipper.
Where would you have taken Flipper?
Once in high school wee stole someone's garden gnome. We took that thing everywhere for two weeks. We took lots of pictures of the gnome in different places. Then we got the pics developed, put them in an envelope with "my tripp" and returned the gnome with the envelope to the original house on the front porch.
ReplyDeleteI still laugh thinking about the owners trying to figure out that one!
Lucky Flipper!! What adorable pictures, Kristin, especially on such short notice. :)
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Ellie at ballet looks so much like my pictures at about age 4. I will find some to share and ask her what she thinks.
So sweet! It looks like Flipper had some good times!
ReplyDeleteOh we have had Flat Stanley before and he really got around. I know the kids love to do those things. Cute pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis is like Flat Stanley, except it's not-so-flat dolphin!
ReplyDeleteI would have taken flipper to a dog track or a sushi place.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And LOL at the sushi suggestion. Let's see, today he would have been able to go swimming with us, to Daddy's office and helped make Valentine's for Grandparents.
ReplyDeleteLooks like flipper had tons of fun.
ReplyDeleteWe had a rubber duck named Caitlin and we took her to Vegas and Disneyland. She had quite an adventure.
Awwww...too sweet! Love the pic of flipper in the tutu! :-) Haven't been anywhere fun lately, but this past week, Flipper could have hung out in the snow here in DFW!
ReplyDeleteIf Flipper would have visited us last night he would have also gone to Red Robin!
