On Vacation from Ellie-Town
Just wanted to let you know that we escaped the cold and are on vacation in sunny Arizona so that Madeline can meet her great aunts and great grandparents. We are having lots of adventures here from scorpions to train parks to wildlife adventures. We'll have lots of stories to tell after Valentine's Day!

I wish...
Here are a few of the things Ellie has wished for today...
"I wish that I could go out and play on the football field."
"I wish I was bigger and that the park was open so I could do the monkey bars. I would do them each individually, one at a time."
"I wish my bicycle had a real bell. Right now it only has a pretend bell that I have to make go 'ding! ding!"
"I wish these rolled up place mats were longer so I could use them for poles for my tent when I have my camp out."
"I wish Madelinz was bigger so she could go down the green twisty slide, too."
"I wish I had a cardboard house like Maggie."
"I wish I was a grown up. Being a little girl just isn't fun anymore!"
Every wish does actually begin with "I wish..."

All you need is love...and a cardboard box.
A really nice, big cardboard box. Maybe a box that contained something large and fabulous like a dollhouse. Really, that's all you need. Oh, and love. You need that, too. With love and a cardboard box you can do amazing things. Things like make yourself into a Jack-in-a-Box.
Or you could declare that the box is really a TV. And bring in a remote control from your Nonna and Poppa's living room and make your family turn you on so you could "be the news." You could say, "Today's weather is rainy and snowy. That is all!"
And you also could drag your Auntie into the box with you and make her be part of your show. Not every Auntie would crawl her 36" inseam into a Pottery Barn Kids dollhouse box, just so you know. But your Auntie would.
Your Auntie would even stay in the box and let you have the remote to turn her on and off. Your Auntie would even pretend to be Taylor Swift for you because she knows Taylor is your favorite.
So yes, Ellie. All you need is love and a cardboard box and you are one happy little girl!
