Pop Quiz!

We are taking a break from Wordless Wednesday because we've been a little picture and video heavy at Ellie-Town the last few days. So instead we'll have a little
Pop Quiz.
Here's the question:
Who is this?

If you answered The Evil Queen, you would be correct. But apparently it is also me.

The setting is a perfectly sunny day. Ryan had just come home from work and everyone was playing together very nicely. Ellie decides that she wants to be a princess {big surprise} and throws on the closest princess dress, grabs the magic wand, tiara and steps into her high heeled shoes.

Ellie then begins to cast the rest of us in her fairy tale. Ryan is, as always, Prince Charming. Madeline is a step-sister. Ellie has no idea what a step-sister is other than that it has the word sister in it and Madeline is her sister so there you have it. Typically I am The Queen. Not today. Today Ellie tells me in an ominous voice "Mama, you are the EVIL Queen!"

WTF.

Really?

I'm the Evil Queen.

Ryan couldn't hold in his laughter. He asked what I did to deserve Evil in my title.

I went back through the day... could it be that I didn't let her have an Oreo with her Go-Gurt? Or maybe it's because I took her to the park and only let her play with her friend for 2 hours. No? I got it! It must be because when we were at Target I let her pick two things from the Dollar Spot instead of the usual one rule.

Trust me, there are days where I could deserve the title of Evil Queen but today wasn't one of them. But I think I have the real answer. It's pretty simple.

Three year olds have no perspective!
How about you? What was your best role? And your worst? Make me feel better!

  1. That is just too funny!! I'm sure that's the role my son would cast me in too. That or the Wicked Witch!!

  2. I can relate. One time as I was disciplining the 6 year old, my 2 1/2 year old said, "Mommy, you acting like an ogre!" And then she roared, just like the Shrek movie. Once I got over my laughter . . . I thought, when did my 2 year old get such perspective?! I think that you and I are both in trouble in the upcoming years. :)

  4. I'm always the evil queen. I have to answer to it when they call. It's really unfair.

  7. LOL. That was cute. When you punish her, you can tell her she made you take the roll of evil queen and you're just doing your part.

  8. That's terrible & funny all at once. My son isn't quite old enough for this kind of play, but I'm sure I'll have many moments like this in the near future.

Stopping in from SITS. Enjoy your Saturday!
