Said the physical therapist at the last monthly (yes, we are down to once a month!) appointment.
Mads is climbing furniture, kicking balls, walking up and down stairs holding hands and unstoppable at the park. To say we have made progress over the last 7 months would be the understatement of the year. I'm not sure if it was going with our gut and getting her into physical therapy as soon as possible or if it's something that would have just come in time but either way, we are thrilled.
And despite her gross motor skill delay, her fine motor skills are amazing. She can twist the cap off of anything - which is super dangerous if you aren't watching her like a hawk - toothpaste, water bottles, you name it she can open it. Mads is also excellent at stacking blocks, coloring, drinking out of a cup without a lid, doing puzzles and taking off her diaper. Notice the trend towards mischief?
In three days she'll be 20 months old. 20 months! That's almost a big girl. Potty training is coming soon and then her big girl status will be completely official. I'm not sure if I will cheer or cry after the last diaper change. Maybe both!

ReplyDeleteIts just the beginning I fear... Ruby is rolling like a pro and she is just 4.5 months! She is trying to crawl and I am going to blink and she is going to be GONE! How do we contain #2?
girl, the mischief is running rampant in my house....courtesy of my very own almost 20 month old! we'll just have to strap in and hang on as these baby girls are gearing up to destroy everything we own ;) so glad to hear that madeline is progressing so well and so quickly! even though i'm sure there are times you'd like to slow her down a bit just so you can catch your breath, it must be so wonderful to see her running around.
