Hey Ladies. I saw the demo and let me just tell you, I know EXACTLY how you feel. You and me? We're like kindred spirits. Our pumps even make the same sounds.
The thing is, my time's about halfway finished. Madeline is already 7 months and I'm thinking I'll go for a year and then quit. But you girls? I'm not really sure. I'll do some research and let you know. I hope it's good news. I know you probably get a warm fuzzy feeling, too, to know that you are providing nourishment to those who need it but you have to have some ending point in sight otherwise it might just get tedious. Or overwhelming or just not fun anymore.
Like I said, girlfriends, I'll do some research and get back to you. We became members today so we'll visit the Farm at the Zoo often.
Hugs and kisses,
Kristin
too funny and oh so true! I remember my first {now 13} crawling over to me to nurse ... that's when I knew it was time to stop nursing. We went just a little over a year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing ... keep writing ~j.
Happy SITS Saturday!
Hilarious! And so very true!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those things I've never really thought about. Off to Google the retirement age of cows...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest back!
What a cute post and a fab blog. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs.

OK... I just love your blog. I love the slices of life. Can't wait to compare raising two girls vs. two boys! I've become a follower, and I look forward to reading more. Thanks for stopping by www.embracedchaos.com.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, cute post and comparison. Love the photos and your fun perspective.
i'm stopping at a year too. my heart breaks for those cows :) dropping by from the mbc. nice to *meet* you!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! My goal was a year too and we went 14 months, she stopped nursing on her own, and I was crushed!
ReplyDeleteFunny! (It's true, too!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. :)
hehehe...I can totally relate! I am SOOO sick of pumping. But I do like actually nursing, a (usually) quiet time with me and the baby :)
ReplyDeleteThe electric pump never worked well for me, but I got very familiar with the manual one. I'm a sahm, so I didn't have to rely on pumping (thank goodness), but it's always nice to have some frozen milk around just in case. 13 months of nursing worked out well for my daughter and I and we "parted ways" without incident.
ReplyDeleteNot to put a downer on your funny post (it IS funny by the way), but I'm pretty sure that once they're done milking, dairy cows are sent to slaughter (unless they're "rescued" and sent to a cow haven or something)...so they may be quite happy to keep milking for a long time!
