This is Ellie's third fall picking apples and Madeline's first. Ellie remembers picking last year so she was very excited {despite having a little cold} while waiting in line for our tractor ride out to the orchards.
Madeline thought the ride was a little bumpy and wasn't sure what all of the fuss was about.
After a few minutes out in the orchard, Madeline figured things out and offered up a few suggestions of her own.
On the ride over, our driver mentioned 'tasting' was allowed. Ellie might have taken it a bit too far.

The girls {kind of} posing for a picture while Ryan was in line buying our picked apples, apple cider and apple & pumpkin doughnuts. Please don't ask how many of our dozen doughnuts are left 36 hours later...the answer isn't pretty.
Ellie is wearing her Matilda Jane Apple Knot dress that she first wore at 18 months and Madeline is wearing the coordinating one on loan from cousin A. You've gotta love a dress that lasts 3 YEARS!

love love LOVE the fall. unfortunately, it's still 100 degrees here. i'm supposed to be reading about autumn during storytime in the library today and it just feel wrong! my fave thing is when we go pumpkin picking. it's just so pretty out in the patch and the kiddos have a blast :) love that you guys have apple orchards to go to....i'd like to do something like that one day!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so dying to go apple picking! All weekend I kept on reading about people apple picking, making pies, etc. Sooo jealous. Maybe this weekend if we can fit it in between football, cheer, and hockey!

ReplyDeletethey had no honeycrisp by the time we got there, though! so, we picked only a few apples. but got 2 dozen doughnuts (we shared, don't worry!)!
