I just wanted to let you know that my oldest daughter, Ellie is your biggest little fan.
About a year ago, when you made your Oprah debut, Ellie caught a glimpse of your long, curly blond hair and was hooked. She was playing in her playroom and as soon as she heard your voice she stopped in her tracks, walked straight over to the TV and stared until Oprah went to commercial break. Ellie was 2.5.
Immediately she asked me to rewind your live rendition of "Love Story" and then we proceeded to watch it on repeat for the next hour. By the time that hour was up, Ellie had her echo mic rigged up to the 'popcorn popper' to sing the chorus and had every hair flip down right on cue.
Ellie's love for everything Taylor has just grown this past year and your new song "Mine" was an instant favorite. Your video "The Best Day" might be Ellie's favorite because she loves to see the home movies of you as a little girl. It makes her think she can grow up to be just like you. Not famous or rich because she has no idea of those concepts at 3.5, but a girl who sings and dances while wearing a sparkly dress.
So thanks, Taylor. Thanks for being a down to earth girl who sings and dances in sparkly dresses. A girl who writes her own music and is true to herself. A girl that I am happy to have my girl look up to.
Ellie can't wait to meet you. We tell her she has to be at least 5 before she can go to a concert. Hopefully you'll be on tour in March 2012.
Sincerely,
Kristin

Hi! Here via MamaKat.
ReplyDeleteI love when small kids sing and dance - it's so unaffected. I do not miss repeated viewings of the same thing. Man. That was not fun.
Nice post!
The good thing is that she didn't pick something that is totally annoying to watch again and again! And I have to agree, Taylor is pretty good role model!
ReplyDeleteStopped by from MamaKat's!
Maggie and Ellie can go together, she asks for Kevin to play that CD all the time in his car. Why Kevin has that CD in his car, I still don't really understand....
ReplyDeleteGrace loves her, too!
ReplyDeleteShe even sings the corus of "15"!
I agree, Taylor seems to be a decent role model (you don't find too many famous ones these days!)
Mia likes her but she loves Justin Bieber. :hide:
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's so cute! Who doesn't like Taylor Swift!? Your sweet girl has great taste!
ReplyDeleteShe really is darling!
ReplyDeleteSo cute.
ReplyDeleteI secretly love Taylor too. Takes me back to being an angst-filled teen.
That is so cute. Taylor is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower! Cute blog!
ReplyDeleteTaylor is a good role model for little girls. Maybe we will you tube up some of her videos tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I'm so happy I found your blog (: Your girls are adorable and I have always wanted to name my first daughter Madeline!
