How does that taste?

WARNING: This post may be disgusting to those of you who are not "new" parents. Feel free to skip if spit-up makes you woozy.

One morning when Ellie was about five months old, Ryan was getting ready to go to work and Ellie, Oxford and I were in bed. Ryan wanted one last snuggle before he left so he picked Ellie up and lifted her into the air. A game that was sure to get giggles. This time as Ryan lifted her up above his head and did the "hhiiiii!" face to Ellie with his mouth wide open, she spit up. In his mouth. It was the most disgusting and hilarious thing I have seen in my entire life. Until now...

Ryan was sitting at the kitchen table with Ellie while she was eating her lunch. I had just finished feeding Maddie in the living room and was walking past the kitchen on my way to put her down for a nap in the nursery.

As we walked by I waved Maddie's hand and said, "Kiss kiss, Daddy! Kiss Kiss, Ellie!"

Well, that wasn't good enough for Ryan. He wanted a real kiss. I sighed (I wanted lunch, too!) and walked back to the kitchen table. As Ryan was doing his open mouth "hhhiiii!" face and leaning in for a kiss on the lips, Maddie spit up. IN HIS MOUTH!

Now I have never in my life heard of someone getting spit up on in their mouth by their baby. Well Ryan is now lucky enough to have this happen to him twice, once by each child. As he was spitting in the sink I asked him how it tasted. In case you were wondering, his answer was "warm." I started laughing all over again.

So during all of this spitting up and laughing, Ellie has been sitting at the table patiently eating her go-gurt. All of the sudden she gets up from the table, walks over to Ryan who is still by the sink and starts spitting on him and laughing. So I start laughing. So she spits and laughs more. When she finally calms down she says, "OK, Daddy! Now it's your turn. Spit on me next!"

Who would think that this face could do such a thing?!
