No Boys Allowed!

I took these pictures today while the girls were winding down from a play date.

On the pocket of Madeline's hoodie it says "Small Paul," which makes me laugh because I think she looks just like my dad whose name is Paul. So now I call Maddie "Small Paul" and I think it suits her.

Our play date was a bit of a train wreck. Usually Ellie is really good. She takes turns, plays nicely with all of her friends. Well today she started a "No Boys Allowed" club in her Land of Nod hanging tent. It went over pretty well with the girls, not so much with the boys. The poor boys are already out numbered 5 to 2, and with all of the princess tiaras and pink in our play room the guys never stood a chance.

The "funny" (if you consider watching your almost 3 year old yell, while maintaining a death grip on a hanging piece of cloth, NO BOYS ALLOWED!) thing is I have no idea where she got this "no boys" theme for the day. I think there may have been a "Max & Ruby" episode where Ruby and Louise wouldn't let Max in a clubhouse but I'm a little foggy on the details of that one.

Anyway, it was just one of those days. There was arguing over the magic wand that lights up, shopping cart, and doll strollers. The highlight of the morning was when everyone mellowed for about five minutes and danced happily together to the Beatles. I wish I had the Flip cam out for the adorable moment when they were holding hands and spinning to "Eleanor Rigby". But unfortunately, the moment was short lived and then the scuffles over toys began again.

Although all seven kids 3 and under might not get along ALL the time, the moms are great. Everyone is laid back and understands that today's tantrum thrower could be next week's angel. AND they all pitched in and had our tornado swept play room spic and span in a matter of minutes.

I'm hoping Ellie is back to her inclusive self next Monday when we move to the next house for fun and frozen pizzas.
