Fall Photos

Picture day rolled around again. This time we celebrated Madeline's first birthday, Fall and hoped to get some family shots worthy of a holiday card.

We all love Gina, our photographer. She has a great eye and doesn't judge when both of your kids are crying their eyes out at the same time.

Part of the stress fun of doing family photos is coordinating everyone's outfits. I always play it safe with the grown ups but love for the girls' outfits to be a little quirky. I will admit that I begin planning what everyone will be wearing months ahead of time and keep everything new until after its been worn for pictures.  I was frantically clipping off tags this morning moments before Gina arrived.
Now Gina has taken things to a new level and has included a fall/winter photo shoot styling guide on her blog.

Nothing is matchy matchy but it is all expertly coordinated to create a beautiful family look.  Here are a few examples of Gina's style ideas:

Gina proves that the grown ups don't just have to fade into the background.

I treasure family photos and love to hang them in our home like art.  In case you missed our first few sessions, you can find them HERE and HERE.  While I have loved all of the earlier sessions, this might be the best yet.  Fall leaves, Matilda Jane and a bunch of red balloons - what could be better?
