Our Easter Eggs are colored. I found this great trick in "Family Fun" magazine about how you can put an egg in a whisk and then dip them in the dye so the younger kids can dye their own. Awesome.
Well, best laid plans and all that because the egg dye we bought came with these adorable little egg shaped plastic cups and they weren't deep enough for the whisk to dunk the egg. Oh well, Ellie had a great time anyway.
She used the little wire dipper to roll her egg around in the dye. Then she would shout "it's all done!" and before we could stop her, her hand was fishing the egg out of the dye. But Ellie wouldn't be the only one who would end up with blue hands...

Notice the proximity of Madeline to the blue dye. Prepare to be amazed.

Madeline two seconds before the blue goes everywhere!
So Maddie reached out with her {incredibly long!} arms and the blue dye went everywhere. If you look closely enough, you will now see our black kitchen table has a hint of blue to it in the grain. Anyone have a rec on how to turn it back to black?

Our little flower. hehehe. Ellie was wearing bunny ears but wouldn't stop hopping long enough to get a picture. :)
After we all washed our hands for-ever, we finally gave up and realized we're all going to have blue fingers/hands/arms for a few days. It's a shame that whisk didn't work. And that we underestimated the reach of a 6.5 month old. Being blue isn't so bad. We were able to explain to tell Ellie all about the Smurfs at least.
Then we had dinner. And more mess!

Hungry girl! After having carrots for the first time she moved onto squash, then oatmeal and also mastered the sippy cup. Notice Oxford two inches away the entire time!
We wish everyone better luck than we had dying their Easter Eggs this year!
