Welcome to ABC

I can no longer live in denial.

My first baby's first day of school is just around the corner.  It's actually the day after my second baby's first birthday.  Confused?

Madeline turns one on Labor Day and Elizabeth's first day of preschool is the next day.

That is a lot of milestones in 48 hours!

When choosing a preschool, I gathered information on all of the local recommendations from neighbors and friends.  I contacted the daycare/preschool combo, the ultra expensive private school and a few church based programs.

I knew that we made the right choice when the welcome pack arrived in the mail this week with an envelope for Elizabeth inside.  I'm not sure there is a 3 year old in the world more excited to receive an envelope with her name on it.

At first Ellie was convinced it was stickers from her new teacher.

But as she continued to tear into the envelope she began coming up with more creative ideas.  What if it was a chocolate duck?  No?  Maybe a picture of a chocolate duck.

Or maybe a picture of my very own princess scooter that they will have at my new school for me?

Maybe new crayons?

Her last guess was spot on.  "What if someone from my school made me a picture?!"

Yaaaayyyyyyyy!

And so we go tomorrow for the preschool screening.  ABC does learning centers and uses the screening to develop an individualized curriculum for each student.  Ellie is a rock star with shapes and colors and knows most letters and numbers so it will be interesting to see how she does with her teacher asking the questions.

I am nervous, scared, excited and sad all at the same time.  Ellie?  She's just excited.  Every time we drive by her school she squeals.

Please wish me us luck!
